Green Papaya Salad

Green Papaya Salad

This is the one of the most popular dish in Thailand. It is actually from Northeastern cuisine like bamboo shoot salad but even more popular.


  • 4-5 cherry tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon dried shrimp
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 6 green beans
  • 2 cups papaya (shredded)
  • 2 tablespoons palm sugar
  • 2 tablespoons peanuts (toasted)
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 chili peppers
  • ½ lime


Step 1

Take a green fresh papaya and peel and shred it. Mince garlic clove in a medium sized bowl.

Step 2

Then add green beans and cut in quarter cherry tomatoes. Crush chili pepper to release its hotness and add into the bowl.

Step 3

Add the green papaya, dried shrimp, toasted peanuts, fish sauce, lime juice and palm sugar. Toss and season well.

Serve this healthiest and freshest salad with some rice and laab.
